A whoop that got around.

Started up in New Hampshire in 1878. Then migrated. Showed up in the New York Times in 1885. Over at the U. of Illinois ten years later. Then used as a call for the Portland Mountain Club in 1896. And, of course, at some point later on, it worked its way down to Charlottesville, where it has lived ever since. Credited as the old Dartmouth yell in one of their annuals, it edged out the cheer Rah! Rah! Rah! over time. Even though it originates from someplace else, it sure sounds like home if you've spent any time in Virginia at UVA.

And that's really what counts – it's not who wore it first, but who wore it better.

What goes into an Old Try letterpress print?

Love. History. Cut hands. And a little bit of cussing.

Beautiful design & high quality

Received this as a gift, and I'm thrilled with it. I'm proud to be able to hang something that represents my state well, and the design looks simply fantastic. High quality, to the point that I purchased another Old Try print when I saw how good it looked. Would recommend.

Five stars and nothing less

This was our second purchase from The Old Try. Their prints make for such a warm welcome in our Atlanta home. Each product is made in the US and made with intention. The company (Micah) is super thorough in communicating order & shipping information (and awesome follow-up emails). Love this'un and all the rest! Thanks again!
