I’m just going to go ahead and say it before I hear any moaning: Maryland is Southern.
If there’s a line (which there is) separating the North and the South, and you are on the S. side of that line (which they are), then you are Southern. It’s easy as that. Why wouldn’t we claim 'em? They have a coat of arms in the flag, for goodness sake. They got some serious colonial credentials. Some old-school shipping wealth. I know you come from an influential family, but until your coat of arms flies over six million people, you can just hush.
