Virginia BBQ

There's a debate of whose BBQ is the best.

Texas says they are. Same with Memphis. And, of course, there are the Carolina disciples. But we had a historian of BBQ reach out to inform us of the Virginia legacy:

“Some of the first recorded discussions about barbecue in the colonies and nascent U.S. were had by the likes of Washington, Jefferson, and Madison. George Washington mentions attending a ‘barbicue’ in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1769. Jefferson, while in France, carried on a lengthy correspondence with his pal Madison about the pleasures of Virginia barbecue.”

And you don't argue with Thomas Jefferson, my friend.
