Even though I grew up in Alabama, I didn’t read To Kill A Mockingbird until I was 40.
I was in on old converted dairy barn in the Berkshires, and there were feet of snow on the ground and there was nothing to do and nowhere to go. On the shelf was a worn copy of Harper Lee’s finest. I found a seat by an attic window, cracked open the pages, and was taken home.
When I read these words from Atticus Finch a few hours in, I knew they needed to be turned into a print.
