A hundred years ago, Marie Oliver made a paper flag for Missouri and her paper flag was beautiful.
In that flag was a bear, to represent the strength and bravery of the Missourians. And a crescent moon, to symbolize the huge potential of the new small state. The hope. The courage. The future of a home carved out from the Louisiana Purchase. Shame that Oliver’s paper flag burned just three years later in a fire in the Capitol building. We couldn’t do the full thing justice, but thought we’d take some bits and make a print. A new paper flag for Missouri.
