Twenty-six years without an Alma Mater.
In 1918, a group of cadets were asked to sing the school’s song at a ROTC gathering in far off New York. They weren’t able to do so, as the school didn’t yet have a song. Well, one Charleston cadet, prolly red faced with embarrassment, decided he’d fix that. On the train home he started thinking about where his mind would travel when he was away. Which was right there, where the Blue Ridge yawns its greatness. Within nine months, they had an Alma Mater. One that proudly rings out from beautiful Clemson, South Carolina, for all to hear.
