Light & Shadow

On the eve of our first big snow of the year, I'd like to share this beauty by Eyvind Earle (1916-2000). He was a background painter for Disney Studios for a couple of decades. Earle was responsible for the styling, background and colors for the highly acclaimed movie “Sleeping Beauty” and gave the movie its magical, medieval look. He also painted the dioramas for Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. In the 1940s, he started painting Christmas cards, and since then has sold over 300 million. This, called Path In Snow, is one of those beautiful pieces. Enjoy. ❄️
