I can remember sitting on the porch swing as an eight-year-old, telling my cousin how silly it was that she was going to vote for Dukakis.
’Course, she was eight too, and neither one of us were going to do any voting for another decade. And by that time we would have we’d moved on, to other states, and a decade after that, to bluer states. But regardless of my political leanings, I think there’s nothing that sounds about as fun as being a member of a Grand Old Party. I just wish their was a little less bickering and a little more working together, that’s all.
