We'll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne.
This was our 8th Old Try Christmas. It always serves as a great time to look back and celebrate where another year has led us.
2018 saw the release of 28 new prints (that’s a record), three new pennants, and a banner. One of those pennants went to raise money for Hurricane Florence relief. Through your generous contributions, we were able to provide 7,000 meals to those impacted on the Carolina coasts. A few of those prints were for local churches doing good for their communities. And as of earlier this month, 10% of all print sales will be donated to The Foster Box, a 501(c)(3) that Marianna and some other Boston parents founded, providing support to local foster families. We also created some new frames with the folks at @byChirpwood, and half their profits go to scholars in Rwanda.
Back in March we moved all of our inventory from a warehouse in South Carolina to our basement in Massachusetts. It has been really great to get back into the swing of packing up every single print and seeing some of y’all’s names over and over again. It also makes for a lot of late nights with two kiddos and day jobs, but it is worth it to know that we’re doing something that matters.
Some other highlights: We left the kids with grandparents and took a 10th anniversary trip to London this summer. We were featured on the @193countries podcast and our story is now out there in the ears of a bunch of other entrepreneurs. I finally got down to Laurel Mississippi to see our friends @erinapier and @scotsman.co , and I got to write their tagline for their new Made in America furniture line – Proudly Built Against The Grain.
Thank you all for a great year. For the continued support, the encouragement and the following along. See you same time, next year? Here’s hoping so.
