A story was recently published in Charlotte Magazine about Dr. Michael Bitzer. In the first couple of paragraphs they talked about the art on his walls. Unbeknownst to them, they were talking (and showing) us. Someone from CLT tipped us off by mailing a copy of the mag on up to Boston.

Down to the Buffalo.


I'm ashamed it say it took me almost ninety days to get down to Buffalo Jackson Trading Co. It's only about seven miles from the house, but it is seven miles in the opposite direction of work. Seven miles down to the picturesque center of Matthews. Which is where Xan Hood, the founder, and his family headed back to after years spent out West.

Henry River Mill made yarn. Fine North Carolina yarn. Made that fine North Carolina yarn for sixty years until it didn't any more. The mill closed. The people moved. The village stayed.
