A few weeks back I was puttering around the internet, and stumbled on Ampersand Vintage Modern.
Now, anything with an Ampersand is fine by me. (Side note, a buddy of mine out on the West Coast has an ampersand blog).
At any rate, these folks go searching for some of the finest, simplest old vintage goods, then sell them in their online shop. The coolest part is that they live over in Somerville. Which is where we used to live and also where we currently print. And their photography is just so well staged and propped and I swear we're on the same wavelength.
So imagine our excitement when we found out they'd written about us the other day. A really nice writeup, one that inspires a person to just keep doing what they're doing. It is resonating with folks all over, not just in the South.
To be thought of in high regard by someone you already are a fan of, well, that's just extra butter on the biscuit.
Well, as is the typically Southern thing to do, I dropped them a thank you. Andy promptly responded. And wouldn't you know that within about three days Andy and his husband Andrew (see their rad apartment here) and the other half of Ampersand, Clytie, and me were all chewing the fat, sipping bourbon in one of Somerville's fine establishments of merriment.
And I just had a ball. They are good folks. No. They are great folks. And to have great folks in the neighborhood is such a blessing. We are fortunate, indeed, to've been introduced. Thank you internet.
