Like most Southerners, we love us a good wedding. Love getting to see old family and make new friends and sweat the details of dress based on the time of the clock. Open bars, hearts, and kins going crazy on the dance floor and uncles drinking a little much and aunts telling them it's time to go.
And while we've been up here almost 5 years now, we've only gone to one other local wedding, which was down in Hingham. I mean, we've been to Ohio and Georgia and the Outer Banks and South Beach and California and everywhere in between, but we haven't gone just up the road.
I guess a lot of that is our life stage. Young 30s, living in the city. Most of our friends are from other places, too, and got here and were married or have their wedding back home in Chicago.
But Scott and Linda are friends from church, great folks, who are, as of 3:37 New Years Day, starting their lives out together. The made over the Tewksbury, MA (est. 1637) Country Club into a winter wonderland with a roaring fire (though it was a bit mild yesterday), photo booth (course) and a DJ that had the whole party rocking.
Cheers to them.
