Fridays ago, we were craving a burger.
Which worked out well, as there's a new burger joint in town called 5 Napkin. We'd seen them in Miami (there are 3 in NYC and 1 in ATL) and had brunch there and I noticed Pappy Van Winkle and course I'm going to go back to a place that has bottle of Pappy (amazing story about PVW here).
And we'd done a little searching and found out they had gluten free buns and our decision was made and we headed over after work through our strangely snowless Boston streets.
The build out of that place is sick. The bourbon list is sick. They were out of Pappy, cause everyone is out of Pappy, but it was on the menu and so were another 25 bourbons so I had a Black Maple Hill and we both got some burgers that were pretty danged good. The lightbulbs are rad. The space is the proper amount of lively. Although we'd read they did, they actually don't have gluten free fries. They are fried up in the same fryer as their other floured bits, so it's a no-go there.
But I think it's going to be my local go-to for bourbon pours (in both 1oz. and 2oz.) and meat hooks hanging from the ceiling and if I'm feeling up for it another 10oz. patty covered in heavenly bits of goodness.
