Verse IX

I hear the distant thunder-hum, Maryland!
The Old Line's bugle, fife, and drum, Maryland!

Like a lot of the best things, Maryland, My Maryland wasn’t written in the state house. In the 1930s it was decided upon to become the official state song, but it'd been penned sixty years before that by one Mr. J. Ryder Randall. It is sung in part each year at the Preakness Stakes and I bet if you go digging at some estate sale as far west as Cumberland you'll find an old worn copy – framed up and just looking for a place to hang.

Beautiful design & high quality

Received this as a gift, and I'm thrilled with it. I'm proud to be able to hang something that represents my state well, and the design looks simply fantastic. High quality, to the point that I purchased another Old Try print when I saw how good it looked. Would recommend.

Five stars and nothing less

This was our second purchase from The Old Try. Their prints make for such a warm welcome in our Atlanta home. Each product is made in the US and made with intention. The company (Micah) is super thorough in communicating order & shipping information (and awesome follow-up emails). Love this'un and all the rest! Thanks again!
